Head of Medical Information System Group. Associate Professor at the University of West Bohemia. From the beginning of her tenure at the Department of Computer Science, she taught a guaranteed items related to the fundamentals of algorithms and programming at technical faculties (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Applied Sciences) and fundamentals of information technologies at faculties nontechnical (Faculty of Education, Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Humanities). In 1992 she joined the teaching of database-oriednted subjects at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, a year later at the Faculty of Economics and even later at the Faculty of Arts. She is the guarantor of the Information systems and of relavant subjects. She is a member of the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and a member of several professional advice for doctoral studies. In research, she dealt with the issue of recognition and understanding of spontaneous speech. Her current domain of interests, however, lies in the field of information and database systems. Particularly, she focuses on neuroinformatics, specifically the problem of cerebrovascular disease. The research is based on current knowledge in the field of neurology and neurosurgery. She was a researcher and co-director of several projects, including international projects (in collaboration with the University of Nancy (France), Erlangen, Heidelberg, Regensburg (Germany), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Oregon (USA)).
